Preheat oven to 400°


  • 1 1/2 Cup Flour (King Arthur Unbleached)
  • 1/2 Cup Quick Oats
  • 1/2 Cup Merle Maple Granulated Maple Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Stick Butter (1/4) pound
  • 1/2 Cup chopped nuts (Walnuts or Pecans)
  • 3/4 Cup Heavy Cream



Mix flour, oatmeal, maple sugar, baking powder and salt together

Cut in butter with pastry blender until the size of peas

Add nuts

Mix heavy cream with dry ingredients until blended - dough will be somewhat wet

Pat out into an 8 or 9" round - dough will be about 1" thick

Sprinkle with pure maple sugar and cut into 8 pie shaped pieces

Place pieces on greased cookie sheet and bake until starting to brown and just firm - 12 to 14 minutes.
